Marg Recommends...

Here you will find ONLY tools, programs, e-books and websites that I have personally used or assessed.

If there is a "how-to" page for any program or tool, there will be a link next to it.
NOTE: All links will open in a new window - check that your popup blocker doesn't prevent this: if it does, look in the 'TOOLS' menu of your browser, and switch off the pop-up blocker.

If you prefer to use tools on the Web to create your sites:

ThirdSphere Hosting - Generous web space, easy HTML editor. Windows computers only. You can host and administer extra websites on the same account for a small fee. Fee charged monthly.

Site Build It! - Excellent tools and tracking. Sign up for a year's hosting. Tools to help you decide on your website theme, do keyword research, and track results. Automatic submission to search engines. Very active forums. This link takes you through to view case studies.

If you prefer to create your website pages on your computer while you're offline, then upload them to the web:

123WysiWyg HTML Editor - This easy-to-use (like using a word processor!) website page creator comes with some excellent bonus tools - like a photo editor, an FTP program (to send your files to your website) and PayPal buttons to help sell your services or your products.

  Research Tools for Niche Sites
Search Automator - I am a huge fan of this software. I fire it up whenever I'm doing a search on the web for information. You can do a Google search from within this program, if you wish... and it makes research so easy! Different buttons allow you to search for (a) specific directories and databases on the Web - e.g. medical, encyclopedia, news articles, travel, audio, video, PDF or (b) for specific terms (tips, articles, technique, etc.) Tremendously useful for the whole family - for kids doing homework as well as writers or internet marketers looking for information. See the 'how to' guide here

  ClipArt
ClipArt.com - if you're searching for images for your websites or e-books, this is the place to go. It's not free, but then you don't have to put up with popup windows six-deep on your screen, either, as you do with the free sites. I've always been able to find the image I want at ClipArt.com - photos, cartoons, images, web art, fonts... I use it all the time for e-book covers and website design. (See some of the covers I've made with images from ClipArt HERE.) The puzzled-looking little  man at the top of all our "How the Heck..?" pages came from ClipArt.com! You can sign up for as short a time as one week, and download as many images as you like during that time. Well worth the money.

  E-Books and E-book Covers
Cover Factory

Cover Factory: I love, love, love this software! I've had several e-book covers (or box covers) designed for me, and yes, they look very professional. But... with Cover Factory, I can create my own covers so cheaply. For example: not so long back I paid $69 USD for an e-book cover. I paid only a little over half of that cost for Cover Factory - and I can make unlimited covers. Check out the tutorial at left to see what the covers look like. I'm hooked!

  AutoResponders
AutoResponse
Plus Training
is Planned.
AutoResponse Plus: I started off with pay-by-the-month autoresponders - which are fine to begin with, when money is tight - but if you can afford it, it's best to buy something like AutoResponsePlus and install it on your website's server. You will always have control of your database. Very straightforward administration - I like this.

Aweber:  Aweber have been in the business of autoresponders for years. They stay up with spam laws and the needs of internet business professionals. Useful tracking tools included, and a WysiWig HTML editor. Recommended if you want to use a pay-by-the-month autoresponder.
