How The Heck Do I...

Use WS_FTP
to upload files to a Website?

Step 2 (cont...) Install and Set up WS_FTP

IF YOU HAVE A CONNECTION ERROR, it may be because you accidentally blocked WS_FTP via your firewall. To check whether this might be the cause, do this:

Open Norton Internet Security, (the icon is a blue and green globe) and click on "Personal Firewall." On the right, click the button that says "Configure."

Then click on the "PROGRAMS" tab.

Further down the page, you'll see the program settings. Scroll down the list until you see the WS_FTP icon - it will have wstftpgui.exe next to it. (Programs are in alphabetical order so it will be near the bottom.) If you see the words "Block all" next to it, there's your problem. Click on the 'down' arrow and change this to "Permit all". Then click "OK" and close Norton Internet Security.
